Loch Fyne – September 2021

Waves Shape

We had a great long weekend both for diving and socialising. 8 divers and 5 non divers. The weather was kind to us and we enjoyed some pleasant and nontaxing diving. The non divers enjoyed some exploring and walking in glorious scenery.

The group was split between a self catering house on the hillside above Tarbert and a lodge on West Loch Shores, so we all enjoyed the hospitality at the house.

Our last excursion to Loch Fyne was May 2017. We have scheduled / rescheduled twice since then !!

Staying in Tarbert, on the west shore of Loch Fyne. A beautiful location with lots of walks and stunning scenery, both coastal (the Atlantic coast is very close) and rolling hills. Not to mention castles and history.

The diving is typical sea loch. Sheltered from the worst of the weather diving is nearly always possible. There is lots of life in the waters of the loch and all close to Tarbert harbour, so short boat rides with the option of a return for the lunch break.

Diving is from Big Blue with our friendly skipper Malc. Accommodation is West Loch Shores just out of town (easily walkable).
