Matters Arising

Pool Fees
Pete has been in discussion with Mark Dunstan. Having spoken with him, he has said there is no movement on fees. We will be charged £87 (3% increase in Jan). It is not financially viable for the sports centre to charge any less. The price is set by the Trustees. We will also be charged £15 for the hire of the room.

Pete is going to write a letter to the Trustees. Also going to talk to Mark Dustan to try and only have pool for 1 hour.

Stewart going to talk to his contacts to see if they can put pressure on the sports centre.

Helen is going to talk to BSAC to see what other clubs pay for pool use.

Ray going to talk to son to see how much his club pays for pool use.

Diving Officer's Report

Very short report this time as I’ve only just got back from my holiday in the Sudanese Red Sea. The boat and the diving were great. I was impressed by our guide. He gave a very thorough boat briefing and then went on to talk about the check-out dive. He wanted to see everyone deploy an SMB. 2 people said “What’s an SMB?” and they weren’t joking. Made me remember to refuse to sign people’s qualification books unless they have learnt a bit about smbs. Instructors take note. In the Sudan people learnt very quickly! That’s it for now

Kate Falkingham, Diving Officer.
