Insurance - Solicitors
view is that the club does not hold any realistic liabilities that
require insurance cover - therefore the club does not appear to
require any specific insurance other than contents insurance

Train the
trainer course is 'still in planning' - Dave Colley
-
The ditching
of the weight belt complication has been somewhat explained and
justified with the explanation that the latest weight belts can be
integrated, harnessed, belted, etc. This point is still to be
discussed with Martin re. the train the trainer session above

Air cylinders
- must either have the black and white checkers or a 'breathing air'
sticker to comply with the necessary regulations

Refunds of
instructors training fees (£70 - instructor foundation course £25
instructor theory exam, £35 open water instructor course, £35
practical instructor exam). Last month it was proposed that
the club refund the Instructor Foundation Course and the Open Water
Instructor Course - ie £105. Payment will be made on
successful completion and passing of the qualification. The
committee agreed this structure and noted that these payments apply
regardless of the route that the training is followed.

Compressor
repairs are underway and Andy Briggs is managing. The compressor
cage shall be quoted for once the alterations have been made.

Diving Officer's Report

BSAC HQ expect
members to spend £25.00 to purchase the new 'filofax' system when
they wish to progress

The committee
agreed to change our approach to new members...any new members are
provided with the course materials up to take them up to Ocean Diver
level. Should they wish to progress onto Sports diver, they
will be liable to cover the expected costs charged by BSAC HQ.
Cross over new members will be charged for all relevant new
materials

suggested that we incorporate a dive planning section onto the club
web site for members who can't make it to the club on a Monday night

Gary Exton has
volunteered to help with the 'leg-work'
