AIM
● to further advance the diving skills of
an Ocean Diver (or
equivalent),
● to provide an understanding of the varied diving conditions
likely
to be encountered (particularly in the UK seas!),
● to provide additional rescue skills, including resuscitation
● to address the use of additional equipment to support diving in
different conditions
● to introduce dives that include decompression stops, and dives
up to a maximum depth of 35m under the
supervision of a Dive
Marshall.
THE COURSE
Comprises a combination of;
● classroom lessons (covering 6 theory modules & an
assessment),
● lesson in the swimming pool (1, to cover practise rescue
skills), &
● open water lesson dives (to cover 5 ‘open water’ modules).
(all theory modules, written exam, and dives
must be approved and signed off by a qualified
BSAC Instructor in order to pass the SD
qualification)
YOUR COMMITMENT
To enable the course to run smoothly for
yourself, other students, and particularly the
Instructors, it is important that you are
committed to further developing your diving
skills on the SD course.
